Krystle Coleman Proves To Be A Leading Lady in PR [ Exclusive Pink Spotlight]

Today’s entertainment industry continues to thrive at the hands of trend-setters in the game and has become more diverse than ever before. Women across all markets are finding their way to the top of what used to seem like a glass ceiling of your typical men’s club. No matter what the career choice, entertainment lawyers, performing arts, media or PR, there is a place for a woman to thrive at being her own boss. Entertainment and Sports PR agent, Krystle Coleman has proven just that.

“Im so hungry because I am 26, I am a female… and the people at Midori Star Media are all hungry at all times we don’t get comfortable…you always have someone else’s career and livelihood in your hands”. Coleman states.

After much success during undergrad at Florida Memorial University with a BA in PR and minor in journalism, contributing her own column to Global Grind facing challenges in Atlanta and finishing strong with Slip-n-Slide Records in Miami, Florida, Coleman thought it was time to work for herself. In 2009 Krystle Coleman founded Midori Star Media PR and lifestyle marketing boutique based in Miami. While Midori specializes in entertainment and sports, the firm focuses on effective campaigns that will advance the needs of any client.

In her past Coleman has had the pleasure of working with Trina, Rick Ross, Plies, and more! She is currently representing Carmelo Anthony’s label, “Krossover Entertainment” and athletes such as Justin Miller, Macho Harris, Bryant McKinnie, Ray Edwards, Vontae Davis and Dr. Sherry Blake.

Although her preferred choice of work is sports PR, Krystle originally broke into the game when she had the opportunity to intern for Def Jam Records and Slip n Slide Records during her undergrad at Florida Memorial University. The Detroit native did not hesitate to be a initiator in her field and her tenacious drive to be the best landed her a director’s position with Slip-N-Slide Records four years.  She then continued to do virtual work from them out of Atlanta upon expanding her network and gang a change of scenery. Coleman realized that working for someone else was not what she wanted for her self and she began thinking of her next move.

“Me and Trina have a really good relationship, I think I was bouncing some ideas off with her and some other people and I just was like I’m gonna launch my own boutique agency” Coleman tells Hiphopcleopatra.

In her grind hard journey, Krystle Coleman takes notes from Kelly Catrone’s book, “Normal Gets You Nowhere”, to strive to be great. Despite the challenges of being a woman in this industry, Coleman perseveres with a strict no fraternizing rule and is stern about her money.

“I am 26, no kids and no boyfriend,” Coleman jokingly says to reiterate how dedicated she is to her business. “I rather get a check any day than sleep with anybody…that’s not how I run my business.”

Midori Star Media has had much success through word of mouth of happy clients and even twitter. The firm is still in its tender years of business, but has offers a variety of services any clients needs. With experience in entertainment, sports and corporate PR This agency and its leader is sure to go far.

“I live, eat, sleep and breathe PR.” – Krystle Coleman

A$AP Rocky x @Hiphopcleopatra x A$AP MOB

You live, laugh and got to love A$AP Rocky and the entire A$AP Mob. The Harlem collective, with Rocky in the lead, recently dropped the popular mixtape, Live Love A$AP, a project that has moved the masses. The EP offers a medley of genres and hip-hop styles including the southern chop & screw with the up-town swag of New York rap. It should come as no surprise that after one project the talented, A$AP Rocky and the entire A$AP MOB would catapult into mainstream music.
While hip-hop seems to be their lane of choice, make no mistake these young rock stars have much to offer and the brains to stay afloat in this industry. Driven by the dream to succeed despite their past trials and hardships, a group of articulate young men entered the headquarters of Downtown Locker Room last Tuesday prior to their Baltimore show. Always Strive and Prosper is about more than just living the ‘trill life’, but truly bases their movement on spreading the word of positivity and inspiration to young men who have also been dealt the hand of life.

On getting their music to the masses:
Just being trill, just being us you know just living the life that we live… We all help each other especially now my brother Rocky

On how the A$AP Movement started:
The big homie Yamborgini [Yams] another big homie of ours H80 put it together in about [2005] and started out putting the unit together to make it stronger and we here.

On How Harlem Hardships have influence their music:
Cause you don’t ever wanna go back to that shit…

On what’s good in the DMV:

Ya’ll got a lot of Good people in the DMV, My man A$AP Ant, Fat Trel…It’s a good vibe.

On variations of Cannibus:
Purp! Purple! Everything is Purple. We were on that Purple drank and that Purple….

DBoi Da Dome And Starzz Hit Up Rap Attack [Video]

Baltimore’s own DBoi Da Dome and Starrz ere recently featured on 92Q’s Rap Attack. The dope-boy-duo possess their own street credit, but there accreditation for worthiness in the rap game stems from their popular single “Trashbags”. The single is tearing up the radio and clubs all over the DMV.

“All I can say is the song got legs so it go where it want to go,” DBoi Da Dome tells AJ.

The “trashbag” spitters told Rap Attack that they were also looking to having a serious feature on the record shortly after shouting out “2Chainz” in his signature voice. I’m speculating that this could be a hint as to who will be featured but we will have to wait to see. Its obvious that the city is loving this new team of artist and supports their music, but is it enough? Peep the video and tell me what you think.

Also Peep his more recent single, “Ex Girl” ft . J’are

Ravens Nation anyone?

Amber Rose Breaks Down In Tears On Rap Fix Live: “I Don’t Deserve To Be Bullied Like That”

Amber Rose chopped it up with Sway in MTV’s Rap Fix Live to discuss her new single, “Fame”. When the infamous question popped up about her transition from Kanye to Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose broke down in tears. She revealed just how hard it has been to hold in the frustrations of the ridicule and how it hurts her that to be bullied Kanye fans in public:

“I have people throwing things at me in the street because they’re fans of Kanye,” Amber said before she started to cry on set. “I’m just crying because I don’t deserve to be bullied like that. I’m a nice girl, I don’t bother anybody. I keep my mouth shut because I don’t want any trouble.”

In a recent interview with Necole Bitchie, Amber Rose also mentions that “[Kanye] was a dick.” In the intimate interview, Amber dishes about Kanye’s character and preparing herself for scrutiny on the new song, “Fame”.

One Kanye’s Comments in Philly: I guess I could speak for all women … When you’re with a man who says those things to you or talks down to you like that, it does affect your confidence. He was a total d*ck–a total, total d*ck. But, for me, it was very real. The relationship was very real. It wasn’t no publicity. He’s not gay like people say he is. He’s not gay at all. He loves women more than I would have liked at that time, but he was an asshole. But, like I said, I forgive him. I moved on, and I’m past all that. The problem that I have with the scenario is that he’ll say all those things. Then, he’ll say, “Thank you Philly for making the incredible person that this song was made for.”… On Calling Kim Kardashian A Homewrecker: I’m not sorry about saying it because it was the truth. I was sorry that I called her a “home wrecker” because I just feel like … It’s hard for me to explain because, as a woman, I need to especially let my Rosebuds out there know that you don’t blame the woman when your man does you wrong! [You don’t do that]. I think, with Star Magazine, it came across as though I was doing that, but I was asked in that interview, “How do I feel about Kim and Kanye dating now?” stated as though I was the reason why Kim and Reggie broke up. This is a question that I get asked constantly, and I’m always quiet, Necole! I’m like, “If they’re happy, I’m happy for them.” And, just as a human being, I got to my boiling point and said, “That’s not the case. She’s the home wrecker! She did all of that. I did none of that! I don’t mess with men who are in relationships.” …

Read The full interview with Necole Bitchie and Amber Rose here. I kind of feel sorry for her now. What do you think? Are Kanye’s Fans doing way too mush? Should people have pity on her for her past mistakes? Let us know! Related Post: Amber Rose Drops “Fame” Featuring Wiz Khalifa [New Music
